Material reflects the life and interests of members of two connected Coral Gables families during three decades. Photographic prints, clippings, brochures, wedding, birth and death announcements, postcards, menus and programs trace professional and political interests as well as family matters. Also included: Dr. William McKibben's autobiography; Erling Ayars' account of the 1928 hurricane assistance provided by his American Legion post; poetry by Olive "Polly" Beatrice McKibben  and memorabilia from South Florida places and events: Orange Bowl, Miss Harris' School, University of Miami, Coral Gables Garden Club and others.

The bulk of the collection contains postcards of street scenes, hotels, local attractions and Seminole Indians in Miami-Dade County. Also includes a group of photographs of the 1926 hurricane, tourists at Musa Isle and a family standing in front of the Goodyear Blimp. Many of the postcards include handwritten greetings written between the 1900s up through the 1960s.

Mr. Southerland's papers cover his work on behalf of the South Florida Crippled Children's Hospital.  Information on Kotaro Suto who served as Carl Fisher's gardener on Miami Beach is also included

The bulk of the materials are from Miami Senior High School and include: diplomas, commencement programs, student newspapers and football programs, yearbooks. Class reunion item include: programs, directories, slide views and video presentation from reunion events. A few items are from Kinlock Park Junior High School and Dade County Junior College.

Other items include: bound photocopies of yearbooks from Ada Merritt Jr. High, Shenandoah Jr. High and West Miami Jr. High School, an a photograph of Robert F. Kennedy at an event at a hotel  on Miami Beach.

Pan Am material includes issues from several company periodicals, a 1931 Operations Manual, and a biography of Pan Am's founder, Juan T. Trippe.

Much genealogical information; documents, including two short diaries, deeds, letters, primarily with 19th century dates; an 1877 map of Florida, and items related to William Lee Apthorp's Civil War service (source of some of the diaries). Also included are 24 items relating to the Osgood family, and smaller amounts for the Weeks and Morse families. Other items: William H. Gleason's 1868 Proclamation (against Governor Harrison Reed); and a 1975 publication: The People of lawmaking in Florida, 1845/1975.

Scrapbook contains testimonal letters from satisfied clients, product samples, newspaper clippings and photographs. A separate set of photographs includes images of Spiegel's art work and the company's office and employees at work. Also includes a potato chip bag and images of the delivery truck for Dee-Licious Products, the potato chips processing business that Spiegel started soon after his arrival in Miami in 1945.
