Collection pertains to people, activities and court procedures in Florida's Eleventh Judicial Circuit and includes: profiles of Miami-Dade County judges, newspaper clippings, publications, fee schedules for the Dade County Bar Association, correspondence, ephemera, rules of practice and procedure guidelines, a biography of Dixie Louese Herlong Chastain and copies of documents Judge Silverman acquired for his historical studies on Miami's legal system.

Also included is a copy of the transcript of the Pacley and Kitchen case vs. the City of Hialeah. The plaintiffs sued the city, accusing it of discrimination against them and other African American employees by denying them full pension benefits.

Most of this collection pertains to Miami Edison Senior High School. Other schools include Highland Park and Shadowlawn Elementary schools, and Robert E. Lee Junior High

The School Ephemera Collection gathers ephemera and news clippings that document events, places, people and issues related to schools in South Florida. Files include  brochures, pamphlets, newspaper clippings and related materials.

Letter, photographic prints, newspapers, publications, diaries and memorabilia pertain to the Santini family of Chokoloskee Island and to the related Munson and Carter families. A significant item is the diary of Adolphus Santini, 1887 July to 1892 May

Ephemera from optometric convention and congresses. Photographs of Dr. Ziff, Sunglass Hut locations, and Zif's sponsorship of various charitable organizations and events.

Playbills and programs for musical and dramatic performances from a number of theaters in Miami-Dade and Broward counties..

Eclectic collection reflecting Samuel D. LaRoue's varied interests and hobbies. Includes postcards, menus, sheet music, photographs, slides, maps and newspaper clippings.  Files of note pertain to Coral Gables and Miami buses and trolleys, photographs and printed material.

The recordings of the Sam Gyson Show consist of political commentary, local news, and interviews. The interviewees include national and local politicians, legal and medical professionals, journalists, as well as entertainers and sports personalities. Most of the shows were broadcast from WMBM and WAXY-AM radio stations in Miami between 1988 and 2001.

The bulk of the collection consists of 256 audio cassette tapes that span 1950 to 2001. The first tape in the collection is a show recorded in 1950 with Gyson, Phil Ramone, Ben Kelly, and Harry Martin. The second tape in the collection is an interview with Larry King from 1976.

The majority of the tapes in the collection span from 1997–1999. There are no tapes in the collection from the years 1989 or 1995.The last 10 tapes in the collection are miscellaneous shows that could not be dated, yet the guests have been identified.

One folder contains of articles, letters, memos, awards, photographs, and an 18-page draft of a prospectus for an autobiography by Gyson called, Short Takes and Some Mistakes.

Clippings from Miami area newspapers, telegrams, invitation to Roosevelt's inauguration, resolutions of sympathy from the City of Miami and from the State of New Mexico, correspondence, especially from the Odd Fellows, are all related to the attempted assassination of President-elect Franklin D. Roosevelt by Giuseppi Zangara in Bayfront Park, Miami. Also included is the May 1933 issue of Startling Detective Adventures, containing an article entitled I Kill all Presidents [a quote from Zangara].

Materials were collected by Russell Caldwell, one of the five persons injured when Zangara fired five shots into the crowd listening to President Franklin D. Roosevelt in Bayfront Park in downtown Miami.

Collection includes correspondence, ephemera, oral history interviews and photographs pertaining to Roxcy O'Neal lifelong engagement as a community activist in Miami-Dade County.

Of note are two letters: One, from Florida Attorney General, Robert L. Shevin to Bolton explains the newly enacted legislation pertaining to the crime of rape in Florida. Shevin noted that the new law was based on Bolton's recommendations and represents a substantial modification to the crime of rape. The other, from Bolton to the Playboy Plaza Hotel in Miami Beach takes the hotel to task for its treatment of women.

Records include: bound rosters (membership lists) and rotes (club minutes), Board of Directors minutes, financial records and club correspondence, scrapbooks of clipping and photographs, brochures and commemorative programs highlighting the Clubs history and projects. Some copies of the Rotarian magazine with articles about Florida Clubs are included.

Printed materials gathered for research on Florida editions of Fodor's travel guides. The collection covers attractions, culture, hotels, places, restaurants, travel and tourism, primarily in the Florida Keys, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Key West, Palm Beach, St. Maarten and the Bahamas.

Hotel press kits, restaurant menus and newspaper clippings, 1987-1991. Pertains to the hospitality industry in Dade County during the 1980s and 1990s, and document a period of intense growth in this sector. The newspaper clippings also cover night clubs.

Materials are organized by place and include brochures, menus, maps, newsletters, newspaper clippings, magazines, etc. The bulk pertains to Key West, the Florida Keys and Miami-Dade County. A Florida section covers smaller cites and areas in the region. Several publications of the Florida Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission are also included.

Research materials and reproductions of maps pertaining to the historical geography of Biscayne Bay and adjacent parts of Dade County. Collection includes photocopies of articles from many sources, 1513-1985.

The collection contains correspondence pertaining to Roger Perrine Delano's service in the United States Navy during World War II, family photographs, and materials about his career and retirement from the Dade County Court system. Also included is a scrapbook of newspaper clippings, correspondence, and ephemera compiled by his grandmother, Sarah Rodgers Walker Palmer.

Scrapbooks of newspaper clippings compiled for Robert R. Taylor, Dade County Solicitor, documents crimes that were investigated and cases that were prosecuted during his tenure. Editorials from the local newspapers also weigh in on issues that affected the community.  Many involved gambling and racketeering, the presence and activities of mobsters and other unsavory characters, voter fraud, prostitution, white slavery and other criminal activity. Also included is a selection from the Miami Herald series "the Good old days," which chronicled people, places and events in Dade County.
