Biographical Note: The person known as Kate Thornhill was famous in Miami as the "Lady Stevedore," who was successful in a number of business ventures and who spearheaded the cleanup and restoration of the Miami River. She lobbied for the formation of the Miami River Advisory Board and served as its chairwoman for more than a decade
